Device fitted with parachute lands in areca plantation !

Punjalakatte, Mar 13, 2018:  A device fitted with parachute which landed in an areca plantation at Irvattur  of Bantwal Taluk has caused anxious moments among locals who wondered  what it was.

 

Farmer Edtur Niranjan Jain spotted this strange device when he had been to his areca plantation to water the plants two days ago. The device was found on the  ground near an areca tree. The mini machinery which resembled  like a battery was attached to a parachute.

Meanwhile C  N Prabhu, Scientist at the Karnataka State Natural Calamity  Monitoring Centre said there was no need for any panic as the  Meteorological Department often  releases such machinery into the atmosphere to study weather changes. Such devices   in course of time land in the sea or forest area, he added.
