Depressed father commits suicide in Belthangady

Belthangady, July 11, 2014:  Depressed because  his daughter married a person without his approval at Thothady Village of Belthangady taluk,  a man committed suicide on July 10.  Anthony K.J, 45. is the deceased, police stated he had consumed chemicals used for rubber processing. His body was found in a nearby forest in the Thothady Village area.

 

Sources said Anthony’s  daughter, 20 years, pursuing a nursing course in Mangalore, was missing since July 5.  He  filed a missing compliant at Belthangady police station earlier. The family then received news that she had married a person from Kalenja nearby. After receipt of the news, Anthony was depressed and had felt bad that his daughter could do this to him. The family has three children and the girl was the only daughter.  Belthangady police are investigating the case.
