Udupi, Nov 17,2016 : A 70 year old man who was desperately running to the post office almost every day since the past few days to collect his pension but was reportedly turned away by the staff citing insufficient change, has died on November 16, Wednesday. It has been gathered that he was in dire need of pension amount for his treatment purpose.
The deceased is Mahabala Poojary, a resident of Rajeeva Nagar near Palimar. He was a diabetic and has left behind his wife Indira Poojarti (65) who too is sick.
It has been gathered that the pension which Mahabala Poojary used to get was the only financial support which the couple had and he was in dire need of the pension amount for his medical treatment .
The post office personnel have however denied the charges made against them. A staff even revealed that inadequate cash is making it difficult for them to disburse pension.
