Mangaluru, Sep 10, 2015 :  Speaking after the inaugural of ’Shraddha,’ a symposium for postgraduate students on the theme ’Education for life Management,’ at Ramakrishna Mutt in Mangaluru  Sept 9,  Ramakrishna Mutt and Mission, Belur (West Bengal), Assistant Secretary Swami Suviranandaji stated that  education is the total result of classroom teaching, building good character and imparting of values

He said that nowadays one could see tension prevailing in various sections of the society, including academic circles and politics. This is the result of lack of ’Shraddha’ or involvement. There should always be a desire to acquire higher knowledge. Swami Vivekananda had firmly proposed that education was not the collection of information.  Real education is the one which builds the character.

The cross purpose between science and religion is due to the differences in our perception towards them said Swami Suviranandaji who added that Swami Vivekananda had said that one must combine Vedantha from the east and science from the west.

VRL Logistics, Hubballi, Chairman Dr Vijay Sankeshwar, who was the chief guest, said the whole world looked up to India now because of the country’s able human resource. The youth of India are competent and talented. Students should take a pledge to make good and marked achievement in their respective fields and to bring about a positive social change.   He  called upon the youth to have faith in the Indian culture. Swami Suviranandaji gave away scholarships to students on the occasion.

MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik said that management was all about ensuring that there was no mismanagement and the students must be the masters of themselves and manage themselves.   Ramakrishna Mutt, Mangaluru, president Swami Jithakamanandaji delivered the keynote address.
