Death of 19 cows in cattle trafficking vehicle mishap : Court fines 5 accused

 Mangaluru, Mar 26, 2015:  The Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court in Mangaluru has slapped a penalty of Rs 10,000 on all five accused in the case of illegal cattle trafficking. In this particular case, the cattle trafficking vehicle had met with an accident resulting in the death of 19 cows.

The accused are Hussain Katipalla, Mohammad Ashraf, Kulai Hussain, Abdul Razak and Zia-ul-Haq.

The incident had taken place on April 7, 2012 and the Tata 407 Tempo had overturned on the roadside on Urva store-Kottara Chowki road.


A total of 30 cows were found crammed in the vehicle and of them 19 had died and 11 had suffered injuries.
