Subrahmanya Sep 28, 2016: The dead body of KSRTC bus conductor who jumped into the river after an argument with woman passenger over change was found today September 28 Wednesday in Subrahmanya.

Devdas, a resident of Gurupur Kaikamba who was working as a conductor in KSRTC bus had jumped into Kumaradhara River on Sunday. The fire brigade along with police and local divers searched his body for three days.

His body was found two kilo meters away from the shore in Subrahmanya.  The body has been shifted to Subrahmanya primary health centre for post mortem and later handed over to the family.

Devdas was a bus conductor in 1st division. On the fateful day the bus had left from Mangaluru at 6.30am to Subrahmanya. A lady who had boarded bus in Mangaluru argued with Devdas over change. She argued that she had given Rs. 500 but Devdas said that she had given Rs. 100.

An argument broke between the  two and the matter reached the police station. The police had settled the matter through compromise.

Mentally disturbed by the incident Devdas signaled the bus driver to slow down on the bridge built across Kumaradhara River in Subrahmanya and jumped into the river.
