Mangaluru, Jan 8, 2016 : Mangaluru South MLA JR Lobo inaugurated the ’Dantha Bhagya’ Scheme of the State Government at a ceremony held at Wenlock Hospital in the city on January 8, Friday. Under the scheme free dentures will be provided to senior citizens with complete tooth loss.
Speaking on the occasion, Lobo appreciated the scheme wherein citizens above 60 years who have BPL cards can get free dentures. He also stressed the need to create awareness among the people regarding the scheme.
Ivan D’Souza, MLC who was also present as a chief guest, was all praise for the several welfare schemes introduced by the Congress Government in the state.
Dr Ganesh Shenoy, Principal of Yenepoya Dental College said the Dantha Bhagya scheme beneficiaries can avail the facility at six dental colleges in the district and added already the government has sanctioned funds for 100 dentures.
Dr Rajeshwari, Medical Superintendent of Wenlock Hospital, Ramakrishna Rao, District Health Officer, Dr Lavina, Nodal Officer of Dantha Bhagya and others were present at the function.
