It has been gathered that the MCC is virtually struggling to get repaired the two pipelines  each of 18 mgd capacity.  Several authorities including Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim, Mayor Jacintha Vijay Alfred, MLA JR Lobo and other elected representatives and authorities have visited the spot and have given assurances to restore water supply at the earliest, but of no avail.

Meanwhile, the area where the pipelines have burst  is flooded further delaying the repair  works. Moreover the task of locating the damaged pipeline itself took two days for the workers and authorities as locals had dumped soil over the pipeline. Even the pumping out of the water collected in the area was an uphill task for the workers.

Though water  supply had resorted in some parts of the city  after the completion of repair of one pipe on Monday night,  some  technical problem cropped up resulting more in more leakage and further delay in the repair of the second pipe. This forced the authorities to  stop water supply.

Meanwhile, MCC authorities have assured to restore water supply by Wednesday evening.   Water tankers  are seen moving in different parts of the city with an effort to mitigate the problems of the people.
