Udupi, Feb 2, 2015: Dalit leader and Kanchinadka Nagarika Hitarakshana Vedike President  Lokesh K has accused some organisations of trying to disrupt communal harmony and peace  by spreading false rumours.

vhp Speaking to reporters at Padubidri on February 1, Sunday, Lokesh said his organisation would thwart such attempts  and added Kanchinadka is a place known for religious harmony.

Even in case there is communal tension, then leaders of all religions should sit together and settle the issue amicably, he suggested.

Referring to the January 29 incident when there were false rumours that a SSF flag was  seen in the Raghavendra Mutt premises,  Lokesh said  attempts were then made by a Hindutva organisation to disturb peace without ascertaining the facts while in reality there was no SSF flag in the Mutt premises.

He also charged the same organisation of spreading  a false rumour that a cattle head was dumped near Tulasi Katte of a house.

The Dalit leader also expressed his concern over the presence of drug racketeers in the region and urged for steps to crack down the menace.
