Kasargod, July 07, 2020: The Kasargod District Administration has decided to temporarily suspend the daily passes of those who used to travel from Kasargod district to Mangaluru on a daily basis. The decision was taken at a meeting held at the DC office on July 6, Monday under the presidentship of Revenue Minister E Chandrashekharan.
The decision was taken in view of the rising Covid-19 cases in Dakshina Kannada district. Those going to Mangaluru for employment purposes should stay there itself while those coming to Kasargod from Mangaluru should stay at the place of their employment for 28 days. This rule would be applicable to doctors and health workers too.
The administration would keep a strict vigil on all border roads and barricades will be erected as per the decision at the meeting. Those in border areas who need to cross the border for emergency work should travel by foot and produce their Aadhar card.
Deputy Commissioner Dr D Sajith Babu, District Superintendent of Police D Shilpa, MP Raj Mohan Unnithan, MLAs and other officials participated in the meeting.
