Speaking to reporters after appearing before the court for hearing in the 2009 pub attack case on October 14, Wednesday, Muthalik also chose to describe the Dadri lynching as a ’minor’ incident.

Muthalik strongly condemned the murder of Bhajrangdal activist and flower vendor Prashanth Poojary in Moodbidri  and  alleged that ’’the anti-Hindu policies of the state government were encouraging  killers." He also said he would be visiting the residence of Prashanth on October 15.

Deploring the act of some senior writers in returning their Sahitya Academy Awards, Muthalik said the writers could have opted for various other means to pressurise the government rather than returning their awards.

The Sri Rama Sene Chief was also all praise for the Shiva Sena   whose activists had smeared black ink on the face of Sudheendra Kulkarni over the  issue of book launch of former Pakistan foreign minister. He even backed the Shiva Sena statement that "Kulkarni was a Pakistani agent."

Commenting on suicides of farmers, he criticised all parties   and said they were only shedding crocodile tears.
