Mangaluru, Sep 4, 2015 : Union Law Minister and senior BJP leader DV Sadananda Gowda has clarified that he had approved the Yettinahole Project during his chief ministership as he had to ensure that every district got adequate water.
Speaking to media men during his visit o the SDM Law College on September 4, Friday for the inaugural of the Students’ Bar Council, Gowda said he was committed to the implementation of the project, but refused to comment on the problems that have cropped up over the issue of the implementation of the project.
In fact the Union Law Minister who hails from the district was greeted by black flags from protestors who were present outside the College. Dinesh Holla, Convenor of the Sahyadri Samrakshana Sanchaya, and many others staged black flags against the minister opposing the project. The protestors including Dinesh Holla, Punik Shetty, Harish, Shashidhar Shety and others were detained by the Barke Police. They were later released.
