Mangaluru Sep 3, 2016: "Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and former chief ministers Veerappa Moily and Sadananda Gowda who have directed officials of various departments to expedite the works of the Yettinahole project at a review meeting, are playing Olympics over Yettinahole project for which they should be conferred with Khel Ratna Award," mocked senior Congress leader Janardhana Poojary.
Addressing media persons at Press Club on September 3 Saturday, he said that the CM asking the officials to inform him of any hindrance during the implementation of the project clearly shows his lack of concern towards coastal people. The CM along with the former CMs are firm on converting coastal areas into a desert, he alleged.
The coastal people will take up cudgels against the decision which is a conspiracy of the two former CMs to which the Chief Minister has fallen victim, Poojary said and urged Chief Minister to drop the project immediately.
Kallige Tharanath Shetty and others were present.
