DKMUL hikes price of milk, curds from April 1

Mangaluru, Mar 31, 2017 : Dakshina Kannada Cooperative Milk Producers Ltd (DKMUL) has hiked price of milk and curds sold under the Nandini brand and new rates are applicable in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district from April 1. This follows a decision by the state government and the Karnataka Milk Federation to revise the rates to help farmers who are caught in the midst of a price spiral of all essential items pertaining to dairying activity undertaken by them due to persistent drought in most parts of the state.

Accordingly, 500 ml of Nandini toned milk will henceforth cost Rs 18 (Rs 17 earlier); 1 litre of toned milk Rs 35 (Rs 34); 500 ml homogenized milk Rs 20 (Rs 19); 6 litre homegenised milk jumbo pack Rs 234 (Rs 222); 500 ml Shumban milk Rs 21 (Rs 20); 500 ml Samruddhi milk Rs 22 (Rs 21); 200 grams curds Rs 11 (Rs 10); 415 grams curds Rs 20 (Rs 19); 1-kg curds Rs 43 (Rs 42) and 6-kg curds Rs 252 (Rs 240). The old rates will be printed on film used to pack milk and curds till their present stock lasts.
