DKDCC pays homage to Rajiv Gandhi on his 21st death anniversary

Mangalore, May 21, 2012: The members of the DK District Congress Committee offered flowers to the portrait of India’s sixth prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, who was killed by a suicide bomber 21 years back, during a special program held in the party office today.

B. Ramanath Rai, Bantwal MLA and DKDCC president, said that Indians are indebted to Rajiv Gandhi for his extraordinary contributions to the country’s progress, especially in fields of information technology and communication.

Gulzar Banu, the mayor of Mangalore; Ivan D’Souza, the secretary of the KPCC; Vijayakumar Shetty, the former MLA; and many others were also present.

Rajiv Gandhi was on an election campaign at Shriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu on May 21, 1991 when he was assassinated.
