DK will host Mudra promotion campaign in Mangaluru, October 16: MP

Mangaluru, Oct 12, 2017: Briefing media october 11, Wednesday,  MP Nalin Kumar Kateel stated that DK, Dakshina Kannada district will host Mudra promotion campaign 2.0 at the Town Hall here on October 16.

The city is among the 50 locations across India where the campaign has been arranged to be held any time between,  September 27 to October 17 and seeks to promote Mudra loans, financial inclusion schemes and digital payment methods to encourage consumers and merchants to shift increasingly to these payment methods. 

About the campaign MP Nalin said the district hosted the event last year on its own with help from banks even before the union government decided to hold the same mandatorily in 50 locations this year. The district administration with assistance from state level bankers’ committee, Karnataka represented by lead district office - Syndicate Bank, Mangaluru is organizing this campaign which will highlight benefits of these schemes to people.

Importance of Aadhar seeding, requirement of mobile seeding, availability of different modes of digital transactions will be focused on during the day-long event, the MP said. Bank mitras and Jnana Jyothi financial literacy counsellors too will be on hand to address queries of people. Bank stalls will take steps to distribute sanctioned Mudra and stand up India loans, open new bank accounts, undertake Aadhar seeding and authentication with consent of account holders.

In addition, there will be mobile seeding, assistance to visitors to download and use the BHIM app on individual mobiles, distribution and activation of RuPay cards, promoting digital payments under National Digital Payment Mission, enrolment for Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana, he said. UIDAI will also put up a stall at the campaign for awareness and facilitation of Aadhar enrolment, he said.
