DK stamp duty collections pips Bengaluru Rural

Mangaluru, Dec 06, 2017: Dakshina Kannada has mopped up more revenue than Bengaluru Rural through stamp and registration fees in 2017-18 despite demonetization slowing down property deals in the state.

stamp-duty.The coastal district collected Rs 168.67 crore between April 1and November 16 of 2017 to improve its state-level position from eighth to seventh. Bengaluru Rural, which was in the sixth position in terms of collection of revenue in 2015-16 and 2016-17, has slipped to the eighth position during the period. The district is still Rs 94.91crore away from the last year’s tally of Rs 263.58 crre. In 2015-16, the district had collected Rs 264.49 crore through stamp and registration charges.


In terms of revenue, Dakshina Kannada was in the eighth place in the state after Bengaluru’s Shivajinagar, Jayanagar, Gandhinagar, Basavanagudi, Rajajinagar and Bengaluru Rural in the past two financial years. In 2017-18, Shivajinagar topped revenue collection through stamp and registration, Jayanagar, Gandhinagar, Basavanagudi, Rajajinagar and Mysuru bagged the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth places, respectively.
