DK had contributed 3 quintals of iron for Statue of Unity

Mangaluru, Oct 31, 2018: Dakshina Kannada district too has contributed to the world’s tallest Statue of Unity of  Sardar Vallabha Bhai Patel that is  being unveiled today at Gujarat, by providing as much as 3  quintals of iron for the cause.

 

The BJP had  launched a programme of collecting scrap iron when the project was proposed. Around 3 quintals of iron was thus collected  with almost all villages contributing one kg iron each.  Separate kits were also provided by the party for the purpose.

Soil from sacred places of the district were also collected for the statue.
