DK getting set for smooth CET exams, May 4,5

Mangaluru, April 28, 2016:  At least  12,352 students from the Dakshina Kannada district are set to appear on May 4 and 5 for the CET, common entrance test,  for admission to professional courses in the state.


cet A total of 22 CET centres have been set up in the district, comprising of 11 in the city, six in Moodbidri, three in Puttur and two in Belthangady taluks, DK DC Adoor B Ibrahim said.  All arrangements have been made for the safe transport of question papers to the centres. 

Chairing a meeting on preparations for the CET, DC  Ibrahim said invigilators to man the examination centres will be drawn by lots and no lecturer from science stream will be deputed for the exam duties. Likewise, steps will also be taken to ensure that lecturers whose children are appearing for the CET will not be assigned duty, he said, adding students are barred from carrying cellphones, calculators and digital watches to examination centres.

It is also important that candidates bring with them their identity cards along with their CET admission hall tickets. The administration will also temporarily close down all photocopying centres in the vicinity of CET centres.
