DK District Ex-Servicemen’s Association observes Vijay Diwas

Mangalore, Dec 16, 2013: DK District Ex-Servicemen’s Association, Mangalore under the aegis of Lions Clubs International, District 317 D and Shasthavu Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Temple Trust (R) paid homage to the martyrs of the war on Vijay Diwas held at the War Memorial in Kadri Park on Dec 16, Monday.

IGP (western range) Pratap Reddy accepted the guard of honour and said that the great sacrifices and services of martyrs will remain eternal. Everyone must feel proud to remember our great leaders. He also expressed his gratitude to the defence officers from the army, navy and the air force.


Vijaynath Vittal Shetty, chief co-coordinator of Shasthavu Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Temple Trust said that most of the organization conducts programme and invite the film celebrities, but none of them remembers to invite and support the nation’s servicemen who are real heroes, which is disappointing.


Colonel N Sharath Bhandary, president of DK District Ex-Servicemen’s Association announced the amount of Rs 51,000 contributed by Dr Fakruddin Kunil.


ZP CEO and interim DC Tulasi Maddineni, outgoing City Police Commissioner Manish Karbikar, Lion K C Prabhu, district governor of Lions District 317, LT Colonel N P Pai, S M Airan, Colonel S R Ram and others were present.
