Citing Police reports Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim wrote a letter to the Home Department Additional Chief Secretary S.K.Pattanayak detailing consequences of the decision of the government.

Muthalik’s unruly boys were involved in several “immoral rowdyism” cases including infamous Pub attack in the heart of the city in 2009. Recently, Muthalik gave a provocative speech in Mangaluru and police actions prevented communal flare up in the district. The police department also forwarded a proposal to ban Muthalik entering the district, the letter said.

Muthalik and his organisation is major obstacle in maintaining peace in the district as they indulge in breach of peace in the society. And, withdrawal of cases against Muthalik by the state government will affect the morale of the police in the district, the letter said.
