DK Congress terms Shivamogga BJP leader’s threat to CM as a ’disgrace to constitution’

Mangaluru, Nov 05, 2015: The statement made by Shivamogga BJP leader SN Channabasappa threatening to behead Chief Minister Siddaramaiah  is a huge disgrace to the Constitution of India, said Ibrahim Kodijal, interim  President of the DK District Congress Committee.

 

Addressing a press meet here on November 5, Thursday, he said the District Congress also strongly condemned the inflammatory and provocative statements made by the Sangh Parivar leaders   and expressed its shock over the rising intolerance in the country.

He also stated that the inflammatory and provocative statements and speeches  were misleading gullible youth who eventually involve themselves in communal strifes after falling victims to the politics of religion.

Referring to the number of  incidents aimed at provoking communal tension reported from the district in the recent past, Kodijal demanded steps to end the same and to launch a crackdown on communal elements.

He also slammed the Acche Din promise of the BJP government at the Centre and charged the government of failing to check rise in prices of essential commodities.

Congress leaders including former mayor Mahabala Maarla, corporator Naveen D’Souza, TK Sudhir, AC Vinayraj and others were present at the press meet.
