A special meeting will be convened next month to address the problems, said Deputy Commissioner A BIbrahim,  Chairing Mangalore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) monthly meeting, he said that parking facilities have not been developed on par with the development of the city. On the one hand, density of vehicles have increased and the road has not been developed based on the density of vehicles. There has been increase in violation in construction of multi-storeyed buildings and apartments. The parking space is not provided as per the design of the building while applying for license.

The DC said that roads and footpaths have been constructed in such a manner as there is no difference between the two. The buildings have violated the parking space. As per the rules, visitors should be allowed to park their vehicles inside the apartment premises. The condition on the same is laid while issuing license to builders. However, a few apartments have hung a board stating that visitors vehicles are not allowed to park inside the premises, which amounts to violation of the building laws, he said and asked MUDA officials to initiate action against violators.  MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik said that the officials should ensure that builders follow the rules as per the building plan submitted to the authorities.
