DC flags off awareness jatha against practice of child labour

Mangaluru, June 12, 2020:   An  Awareness Vehicle Jatha aimed at sensitizing the people against the  illegal practice of child labour, was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh at the District Court complex here on June 12, Friday. The Jatha is organised by the DK District Child Labour Welfare Society,  District Legal Services Authority, District Judicial Department, Labour Department and Mangaluru Bar Association.

The Jatha will travel across the district and sensitize people on the  ill-effects of the practice of child labour and also on the need to protect child rights.

District Principal and Sessions Judge Muralidhar Pai, Principal Senior Civil Judge A G Gangadhar,  Family Court Judge Ravi Nayak, Mangaluru Bar Association President Narasimha Hegde, Labour Department officials Wilma Elizabeth, K B Nagaraj and others were present.
