DC directs officials to put up sign boards, keep cranes on standby at Charmadi Ghat

Mangaluru, Jan 13, 2015: Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim convened a review meet here on January 13, Tuesday in the backdrop of the ongoing repair work of the Charmadi Ghat to ensure minimal inconvenience to the motorists following the closure of Shiradi Ghat road.

Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim convened a review meet here on January 13, Tuesday in the backdrop of the ongoing repair work of the Charmadi Ghat to ensure minimal inconvenience to the motorists following the closure of Shiradi Ghat road.  During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the NH officials to install sign boards at necessary points on the Ghat roads. RTO officials were also directed to see that the heavy vehicles do not use the Charmadi Ghat in violation of the existing rule.   Officials were further  instructed to keep  two cranes  on standby  on either sides of the ghat to assist in relief operations in case of accidents.  Dr Sharanappa, District Superintendent of Police, Sadashiva Prabhu, Additional DC, NH officials, RTO and KSRTC officials attended the meeting.
