Mangalore, May 23, 2014: Mangalore At a progress review meet held at the DC office on May 22, Thursday, Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim took the officials to task for the tardy progress in the scheme envisaging door to door collection of solid wastes in the Mangalore City Corporation and other urban local body limits in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the authorities concerned to assess the impact of the scheme in the city.
Officials however state door-to-door solid waste collection is done from 1,45,316 houses and 43,583 commercial buildings in the city.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the authorities to maintain various parks effectively. He also expressed his displeasure over the progress in the Vajpayee Housing Scheme.
In view of the impending monsoons, he further instructed the officials to take up the task of cleaning storm water drains and complete the same at the earliest.
