D. Veerendra Heggade chosen for 16th Ahilyabai National Award

 Belthangady, Feb 28, 2013  : Dr. D.Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala has been chosen for the 16th  Devi Ahilyabai National Award by the Sri Ahilyotsava Samithi  of Indorenagar in Madhya Pradesh, in recognition of his outstanding service  activities in the fields  of  education, rural development, health care and other sectors.


veerendra 1The Award carries a cash prize of Rs one lakh and will be presented at a function to be held at Indore on March 2. Swami Swaroopanandaji Saraswathi of Shruti Sagara Ashram of Phoolnagara near Pune,   Justice Ramesh Chandra Lahoti,  former  chief justice of Supreme Court, Sumithra Mahajan,  President of Ahilyabai National Festival Committee and Ashok Daga, Working President  will be present.


Several eminent men including  Nanaji Deshmukh, Dr BR Chidambaram, Vijayaraje Sindhia and Sudhamurthi have bagged the awards in the past.
