Mangaluru, June 19, 2015 :Based on a tip off given by Air India Security, on Thursday, June 18, 2015, the Customs officers of the Mangalore International Airport intercepted a passenger and seized about 4.110 kilograms (including moisture content) of dark green dry leaves believed to be ‘CANNABIS’, a narcotic drug commonly known as Marijuana or Ganja, valued at about Rs.5,00,000/- in the international market, from the baggage found in possession of the said passenger.
The accused is identifies as Muhammed Ershad Chemberika Mohamood a resident of Kasaragod. He arrived at Airport to travel Doha by Air India Express flight No.IX821, scheduled for departure in the Thursday evening.
The release from the Customs said, he has been arrested and is being produced before the Magistrate. Further investigation is under progress.
