Covid-19: Passengers travelled by private bus on Mar 20 to Mangaluru asked to report to officials

Mangaluru, April 18, 2020: Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh has requested all the passengers who travelled by a private bus [Bharati Travels] from Majestic in Bengaluru to Mangaluru on March 20 to report to the concerned officials.

In a statement issued here on she said this came after a 39-year-old person who tested positive for COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada on Friday, April 17 travelled in a private bus from Majestic in Bengaluru to Mangaluru on March 20.

 

All the 32 passengers, who had travelled by the same bus, have been advised to undergo health check-up at their nearest primary health centres.

Instructions to retail chemists in DK
To stop the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, all the retail chemists in Dakshina Kannada district have been instructed not to dispense paracetamol-based drugs (both prescriptive and OTC) for symptoms like fever, cold, cough, tiredness and difficulty in breathing without the prescription of the doctors.

According to a press release issued by Deputy Drugs Controller, in case of dispensing paracetamol-based drugs against the prescription, then medical shop owners should record all the details like name of the patient, name of the doctor, address and mobile number in cash bill.
