Couple unite in death too

Puttur, Oct 05, 2018:  An elderly couple hailing from  Nekkaraje in  Kodimbady of Puttur taluk  breathed their last on October 4,  within a gap of a few  hours. The deceased are Lakshmi Naik (70) and her husband Taniya Naik (75).

Lakshmi’s son Dharnappa Naik lifted his father to take him to the bathroom and give him a bath. It is said Taniya breathed his last while his son was holding him.

It is learnt, Taniya was bedridden since  the past one month. However, on Thursday morning Lakshmi  collapsed all of a sudden and died.   Funeral was later performed in accordance with tradition and all the family members and relatives were present.

The couple is survived by a son and two daughters.
