Country Cricket ends in Clash, four hospitalised, two cases registered

Mangaluru, 19 April 2015: Cricket playing in country yard of private persons turns into verbal abuse, clashes and finally four persons  hospitalised others arrested by police on April 17 evening in Adyar Padavu, outskirt of Mangalore city.

Residents of Adyar Padavu Yakoob and his friend Abdul Nazeer filed two separate police complaints against more than ten persons, who used to play cricket match in the land adjacent to Yakoob’s relative BeeFathima’s tiled house.


Seriously injured Yakoob, Abdul Nazeer, Moh.Manzoor and Tanzeer were admitted to the hospital.

There was vacant place near Beefathima’s rented house and she suggested them not play cricket near her home as most of tiles broken hit by cricket ball. On April 17 evening also the bunch of youth came to play cricket neglecting warning from the lady.

The altercation took place when Yakoob came insisted them to not play in that place. All of them started abused him in filthy language and Hanees, Tanveer assaulted on his face. One Naufal assaulted him using a cricket bat. Ashraf, Mansoor Tausif, Mufeed, Pucha Ashraf and others abued him threatened him dire consequence, police sources said.

Then locals Basheer and Nazeer took the injured Yakoob to the hospital in auto rikshaw and culprits intercepted the auto near Isubaka’s shop and again assaulted them.

The Mangalore Rural police has registered two cases against the culprits and investigating the case.
