Mangaluru, Feb 21, 2016: The CCB Police of Mangaluru led by Inspector Valentine D’Souza has succeeded in arresting a man from Sullia who is the prime accused in counterfeit currency racket and was at large since the past ten years. The arrest was made at Hunasuru in Mysuru district.
The arrested man is Moidin Kunhi alias Moidu (43) of Bellare.
Police said that Moidin who was earlier arrested in 1999 for circulating fake notes in DK and Kasargod was later out on bail. He however had failed to appear before court for hearing and was at large since 2006.
Meanwhile, others who were arrested in connection with the case had been convicted and are undergoing jail term.
Police also informed that Moidin was wanted in many other cases too. The CCB police have entrusted the custody of Moidin to Mangaluru North Police.
