Mangaluru Bar Association President S P Changappa said that the State government had constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the issue. As SIT comes within the purview of the State government, it can not conduct an impartial probe. The case must  be handed over to the CBI for an impartial probe.

Lokayukta is an independent agency, the State government can not interfere in its functioning. The Governor should intervene and entrust the probe to the CBI. There are serious corruption charges in the office of Lokayukta, more particularly against Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao, it is not proper for him to continue in office.

It is vital while appointing Lokayukta, the State government should cross check the background of the person. In public interest, the protest was carried out without affecting the court proceedings. After the court proceedings, the delegation of Mangaluru Bar Association submitted a memorandum to the DK  DC Adoor B Ibrahim.
