Corporation bank effort gives support to 5 institutions on ’Children’s Day’

Mangaluru, Nov 15, 2014:  City-based Corporation Bank’s "Corp Kiran" on the occassion of  ’Childrens day’ -  along with its association of wives of senior executives of the Corporation Bank and women employees of the Bank extended support to four institutions in Mangalore - Government Higher Primary School, Bengre Kasaba, Ave Maria, Centre for Palliative Care, Vamanjoor, Mangala Jyothi Integrated School, Vamajoor and Savayava Krushi Pariwar.


corporationBengre Kasaba school got much needed tube lights and ceiling fans, while filing cabinets were given to Ave Maria, Centre for Palliative Care that cares for terminally ill people, for keeping the medical records of the patients.  The association provoded chairs to Mangala Jyothi Integrated School. The school gives education to specially privileged children such as orthopedically challenged, hearing and visually impaired along with the normal children of economically backward parents. Out of the 600 students studying in the school, about 150 are disabled. Weighing machines and steel tables were given to to Savayava Krishi Pariwar which is regularly organizing market for the sale food grains, vegetables, fruits which are grown following organic farming methods. The specialty of the market is that the farmers themselves sell the agricultural produce grown by them and they are able to get full price paid by the customers. Women from weaker sections who prepare items like pappad and pickle also sell their produce at the market.

The activities include provision of food and clothing for the poor school children, orphanages, old age homes, destitute homes, physically challenged people and medical help to people in distress from the weaker section of society. Organizing health check-up, blood donation camps, community developmental activities benefiting poor and the disabled, green initiatives like tree plantation drives, maintaining greenery, engaging in empowerment activities like vocational trainings, adult education programmes etc. are some of the activities being carried out.
