Mangaluru, May 30, 2015 : Corporation Bank, Union Bank of India and Canara Bank bagged the first three prizes in official language implementation during 2014-15 in Mangaluru region while Vijaya Bank and State Bank of Mysore got special prizes.   Prizes and trophies were distributed at the 58th half-yearly meeting and annual award distribution function of the Town Official Language Committee (TOLIC), Mangaluru,  on May 28.

corpCorporation Bank Chairman and Managing Director S.R. Bansal also felicitated MRPL and Engineers India for securing first and second prizes and BSNL and Airports Authority of India for getting the third prize in public sector undertakings category. KIOCL and New Mangalore Port Trust got special prizes under this category.

Under Union government offices category, All India Radio secured the first prize, Employees Provident Fund Organisation got the second prize and Doordarshan Maintenance Centre bagged the third prize.

Indian Coast Guard and Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute got special prizes. Bankers Institute of Rural Development got the prize for excellence in training college category.

CMD  Bansal complimented member organisations for their support during the Joint Regional Conference of South and South-West regions held in Mangaluru.


He appreciated various innovative activities conducted by bilingual technology Research Institute under TOLIC and urged it to continue.  P. Vijay Kumar, Deputy Director (Implementation), regional implementation office, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, reveiwd the quarterly progress report on official language implementation and lauded all concerned.
