Cops thwart Youth Congress plans to protest against BJP Chief Amit Shah

Mangaluru, August 21, 2016: An attempt made by Youth Congress workers to   protest in front of the Circuit House where the BJP National President Amit Shah was resting after arriving in the city on August 21, Sunday was foiled by the  police who detained the Youth Congress workers.

It is said the police did not allow the protest for which no permission was sought earlier, despite the Congress workers assuring to hold a peaceful protest.

Speaking to reporters, Youth Congress President Mithun Rai alleged that those responsible for the killing of Praveen Poojary  in Udupi belonged to the BJP and its affiliate organisations.

Finally, the police decided to detain the Youth Congress workers to avert any untoward incident. Sudatta Jain Shirthady, Praveenchandra Alva and others were present.
