Cops bust prostitution racket operating from house near Manipal; 10 arrested

Udupi, Jan 30, 2019: A police team led by Karkala ACP  Krishnakanth raided a house at  Rajeevanagar in Badagabettu near Manipal  and unearthed a prostitution racket which was being operated from there.

The raid followed a complaint during a phone-in programme. A total of ten persons including a woman have been arrested during the raid.

The police team has seized a cash of Rs  65,250,  five vehicles, 11 cell phones as many as 22 condoms apart from three used ones from the house, among other things.

 It is  learnt the racket was being operated by a person named Vadiraj Ameen alias Vadi  through his wife. The arrested are Satish (30) from Chikkamagaluru, Karthik (37) from Tamil Nadu, Mahesh Bhat (26), Asha (35),  Deepak (30), Vinay (28), Puneeth (29),  Dinesh (30), Sachin (32), Arun (25) and Dinesh  (30).

 The SP has suspended Manipal ASI Shekhar and  constable Suresh for not raiding the place despite complaints from the public.
