The boy Ahmed Nisar,  II PUC student of Star Education Institute in Mangaluru, was released after two days of brutality in custody, only after the cops realised that he had nothing to do with the missing of the girls.

The police who gathered that Nisar was  a member of a Whatsapp group  in which the girls were also members and was also a Facebook friend of the two, had picked him up from his institute on February 2.

Nisar who is presently admitted to the hospital claimed that he had never met the two girls named Smriti and Jaqueline and that he also has no hint  with regard to the reason that prompted the police to take him to custody.

It is learnt, the police had handed over Nisar to the CCB cops  and that an inspector had  reportedly assaulted  and abused him. He  claims he was also given electric shock.

It has been gathered that Police Commissioner  M Chandra Shekhar has asked ACP  (Central) Tilakchandra to enquire into the case.

In the meantime, the two missing girls were brought back to Mangaluru from Shoranur. Police said the girls had left their homes out of their own accord with an intention of leading a life on their own.
