Cop suspension case : Madhwaraj says no question of pressurising Police Dept

Udupi, April 11, 2017 : Udupi District in-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj has said that he wants the police to thoroughly investigate the case  wherein one of his company’s employees teased a constable’s wife and also the case wherein the constable badly assaulted  the  employee  resulting  in damage to the  latter’s spine.

Speaking to reporters here, Madhwaraj said there was no question of him exerting pressure on the police department  to suspend the  constable and added that  as the assault by the constable had damaged the spine of the  person accused of eve-teasing  it has become a medico-legal  case and the  person accused of assault has to be suspended.

He also  stated that he has no objection  if his employee was punished  in case the  probe proves him guilty.

Admitting  that the now suspended constable  had approached his wife who manages his company seeking against filing a case,  he was told that  nothing could be done as the victim has been hospitalised.

Probe underway : A  departmental enquiry  is underway into the case of assault by the constable,  while  SI of women’s police station is investigating into the complaint filed by the constable’s wife Jyothi.
