Contractor booked for felling valuable trees in DCP Quarters ground

Mangaluru, Nov 15, 2014 : A contractor has been booked for felling valuable trees  during the process of leveling the DCP quarters grounds located behind the RTO office in the city on November 15, Saturday.

 

 

It has been gathered that the contractor    who was leveling the ground,  had tried to  transport the logs of the felled trees  by concealing them in mud-laden tippers. When Forest officials led by RFO Clifford Lobo raided the place following a tip off, the accused  reportedly tried to cover the wooden logs by dumping soil over it.

It has been gathered that the  Forest Department has slapped a penalty on the accused and will initiate legal proceedings.
