Mangaluru, April 27, 2020: The Dakshina Kannada District administration has declared some specific areas in Padavu, Shaktinagara and Kakkebettu as containment zones after two residents of Kulshekhar, a mother and son tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh has issued an order on April 27, Monday declaring Kakkebettu as an active containment Zone having a population of 120 including four shops, an office and 22 houses.
A buffer zone having an area of five km around the containment zone will also have to face strict lockdown rules. Vamanjoor Junction marks the east boundary, Padavinangady- North boundary, Bunts Hostel Junction- South boundary and Urwa Market- the West boundary of the buffer zone which has 4,800 houses, 1,350 shops and offices and 73,000 people.
