Congress workers come to blows after announcement of candidate list

Mangaluru, Oct 31, 2019 : Some  disgrunted Congress workers came to blows  on October  30, Wednesday no sooner the party announced the  list of candidates for the upcoming  MCC elections.

Sources revealed that former MLA BA Moidin Bava was  assaulted by some persons said to be relatives of former mayor Gulzar Banu. It is said  just as  Bava who attended the Congress press meet arranged at a hotel at Kodialbail,  came out of the venue, the supporters of Gulzar Banu  questioned him over  denial of ticket to Fathima B of Katipalla North Ward. This led to a heated altercation between Bava supporters and Gulzar Banu supporters. Youth Congress President Mithun Rai and others intervened and pacified both sides.
