MLA U T Khader said that the students are facing a number of problems because of power shortage, adding that the students are unable to study for their examination. He accused the state government of giving false assurances and not working for social welfare. He also said that Congress activists such as Ivan D’Souza have conducted this rally in order to oppose the government’s anti-people policies.

Moideen Bawa and Ivan D’Souza also participated in the rally. The Congress activists carried an effigy of CM Yeddyurappa during the rally and later burned it on Nehru Maidan.
