Mangaluru, 14 May 2015: The Congress party members are confident of wresting majority of number of Grama Panchayaths in Dakshina Kannada district and congress party all set to face the election for grama panchayaths scheduled to be held on May 29, said district in-charge minister B.Ramanatha Rai here on Thursday 14 May 2015.

The social welfare programs implemented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah government for the last two years are enough for congress nominees to get the support by the voters in the grama Panchayath elections in the state.

The Congress party members will be elected in huge numbers, Rai said in a press meet. 


After congress to power rice was provided to BPL card holders at Re. 2 and from this month onwards BPL holders will get rice free of cost. We are also initiated several socio economic welfare schemes for the benefit of the economically poor people and farmers are happy with low interest farm loans. Siddaramaiah government’s programs aims at welfare of people of all strata in our society, Rai explained.


We are also abolished single site form 9/11 regulations in terms of non agricultural land and assets in the rural areas pertaining to three districts of Coastal Karnataka, he mentioned.


The congress party elected representatives in our district strived hard to provide rural infrastructure by pooling up funds from various schemes and grants. Rural infrastructure was comparatively good in our district and that’s because of congress party administration, he said.


Mangaluru Urban Development Authority Chairman Kodichal Ibrahim, MLA Moideen Bava and others were present.
