Congress leaders misleading public on Suratkal toll plaza issue : Palemar

Mangaluru, Oct 10, 2015 :  Former  minister and BJP leader J Krishna Palemar has   accused the Congress leaders of trying to mislead  the people on the  Suratkal toll plaza issue.

 

Speaking to reporters here on October 9, Friday, Palemar while pointing out that several questions were being raised following the absence of the  BJP leaders in the recent protest against the Toll Plaza under the leadership of Suratkal Nagarika Samithi , Palemar said in fact the Toll Plaza was constructed  during the previous UPA rule when MP Oscar Fernandes was  a Union Minister.

He blamed the previous Congress government  for the problem and also alleged that   none  including local MLA Moidin Bava and  the Nagarika Samithi wish to speak about it now. "Even Oscar who while being in power could have taken necessary steps, was now participating in the protest," Palemar further added. "The Nagarika Samithi is also acting like  the agent of the local MLA," Palemar alleged.

On the writ filed in the court by Nagarika Samithi, Palemar said despite filing the case, the Samithi had not attended the hearing later on  the result of which was that the Court has now directed  the DC to ensure collection of toll.
