Mangalore Feb 26, 2016:  District-in-charge Minister Ramanath Rai has alleged that the BJP government achieved nothing during its eight years of rule in the state in the past.

Participating in a “Felicitation Programme" organized by DK District Congress for the winners of Taluk Panchayath and Zilla Panchayath election,  at Shanthi Nilaya, Balmatta on February 26, Friday, he said the  Congress has the ability and the strength to run the government on its own. "The BJP  need not teach us how to rule," he said.

The Congress government has initiated various welfare schemes and the party workers are also striving for  the cause of the poor, while the BJP is known for its false promises, he said. "’May be our actions have troubled the rich, but Congress has never done anything against the poor unlike the BJP which is cheating the poor," he commented.  Form 9/11 rules of Land Revenue Act and Yettinahole project was initiated by BJP, but today they have pinned the blame on us, he added.

Fisheries and Youth Service Minister Abhaya Chandra Jain said that Party workers have showed their dedication throughout the election which is appreciable. It is our responsibility to respond to the aspirations of the people pertaining to development works in the district, he said.


MLA JR Lobo said that  winning and losing is a part and parcel of the election. We  need to be confident and also it’s the party’s responsibility to ensure that the government schemes reach target  groups.
