Mangalore, June 24, 2013: No other government but the Congress government can ensure justice and help in the development of the backward classes and minorities, claimed State Minister for Forest and Ecology and District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai.
He was responding to a felicitation conferred on him by the Muslim Central committee here on June 23, Sunday. Rai further said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was keen on the development of backward classes and minorities as he comes from an AHINDA background. He also said he has spoken to the CM regarding the proposed Haj Bhavan in Mangalore.
Rai also touched upon the issue of moral policing and said the government will leave no stone unturned in cracking down such unlawful elements.
The Committee on the is occasion placed forth several demands before the minister including a thorough probe into the Panjimogaru double murder case, to do justice to Muslim youth affected by the Nitaqat law of Saudi Arabia and setting up of Tipu Sultan University.
Mangalore North MLA Moidin Bava was also honoured on the occasion.
Kodijal Ibrahim, Vice President, Muslim Central Committee, Thwaka Ahmed Musliyar, Qazi of Mangalore and others were present.
