Mangaluru, Jan 20, 2018: The 68th phone-in of City Police Commissioner held on January 19, Friday received complaints galore against flouting of rules by private buses.
If one caller had a grouse against a bus which was operating without permit in a particular area, another caller complained that the conductor of a route number 27 bus were not returning change and also behaved rudely.
A caller from Gurupur Kaikamba narrated the problems faced due to the LED lights used by some motorists.
A Derlakatte resident drew the attention of the Commissioner regarding the problems posed by a bar in a residential area. A Bejai resident alleged that a bus of route no 15A issued fake tickets which had no mention of the bus route number.
The Commissioner assured to look into all the problems and also bring them to the notice of the police stations concerned.
The phone-in programme received a total of 30 calls.
DCPs Uma Prashanth, Hanumantharaya, ACP (Traffic) Manjunatha Shetty and ACP Valentine D’Souza were also present.
