Mangalore, Feb.1: In a press conference held here on Monday, Mohammed Asif, Director of Amok groups, told to reporters that he had met the CEO of air India Mr. Ansbert D’souza in Mumbai and requested for direct air service from Mangalore international to Saudi Arabia. The possibility over direct flight to Saudi, he said about the enhancement of Middle East going flight to the Saudi. A decision with respect to this will be taken within two weeks, he added.

 

 


The CEO of Air India has told us that, they have been getting good response from the people on the air service to Middle East countries. There is no shortage of flight service right now, he added. But the lack of pilots has been a reason for delay in air service. Mr. Sherif  has already met the Aviation Minister Praful Patel, Central Law Minister M Veerappa Moily and AICC General Secretary Oscar Fernandez in this connection.

 


 


 



Brushing aside the contrary news of not starting flight service, carried by one of the online news paper from Mangalore, the airport director Mr. Peter Abraham has stated that there are no issues in starting direct flight service to the Arab country. If direct flight to Saudi is to be initiated from tomorrow, the airport can still manage the operations using existing terminal itself, he assured.
