A number of agencies, which include Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, State Police, Coastal Security Police, Customs, Fisheries, Port Authorities and other Central and State departments are the stakeholders in the maritime domain. The multiagency environment requires cooperation, coordination and understanding of one another’s strengths as well as limitations to ensure foolproof security by the optimum exploitation of resources.

The main objective of the exercise is to provide seamless seaward cover along the Karnataka coast and security of State assets. The exercise will also assess the effectiveness of the fishing community as ’eyes and ears’ for early warning of seaward threats.

The exercise will be supervised by the State of Karnataka and is conducted and coordinated by the Indian Coast Guard Karnataka Headquarters, Panambur, Mangalore. The citizens will play a pivotal role to be alert and involve themselves in the exercise and report sighting of any anti-national element or activity on phone numbers: 100 (Police) and 1554 & 0824-2405278 (Indian Coast Guard).
